Hi Whitney

First I want to say I loved this post. I did this hairstyle on my daughters hair and she loved it. Thank you. Now, I recently watched your youtube video of your hair journey after you cut your permed hair off. I haven't had a perm in a long time however I've worn my hair braided in extension for a long time. I've recently decided to take the extensions out for good and just go completely natural. Would you please do a video sharing some of the styles you wore when your hair was shorter when you were first starting out on this natural journey and how to do those styles or some tips for shorter natural hair. I would really appreciate it. I tend to get stuck wearing the same 3 hairstyles (a twist out afro, short cropped afro or a braid out). Don't know what else to do. Would love some tips .

Thank you LaQuele 🙂

Hi. I've been following your blog for a while. Just a quick question. Is there any reason you braid your hair over instead of under? For example, when you braid, each individual piece of hair goes above the next section rather than under. I always braid under- its more ergonomic for me- but just wanted to know if you think there are any benefits of braiding over. Thanks!

Hi,
I've watched your videos and i'm going through a transition from perm hair to natural.
I am in need of some help. I have a mix type hair. Before I perm my hair it was like yours. Its been four months and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I'm not doing the big chop Im letting the perm hair grow out. I'm using mix chick product and also shea moisture. Please tell me what I can do please ?

Also I love the curls lovely and congrat on your beautiful baby girl. Many blessings 🙂

Helloooo!!!!!!! I just found your site three hours ago. Been exploring since! It is after 2 AM my time but I am Excited about what I have learned so far. You have Provided great information! I just ordered the Mud because of you! My hair is very much like yours, tightly curly and VERY thick. It used to be just to my bra line. My hair was natural and longer than that five years ago But I flat ironed it and I let people talk me into relaxing it again. I was so sorry I did that because it started getting short again even though I was very careful of how I cared for it. Did the big chop last July. Is just passed shoulderlength now. I'm excited about getting the Mud. I currently use Wen and Ms. Jessie's buttercream products. Do you still use Ms. Jessie's with the Mud or do you style your hair with Shea butter blends? I normally do a wash and go by rubbing tons of Miss Jessie's on my hair so it doesn't shrink into a curly fro. But now that it's getting longer, considering trying the stretch twist. Not sure what to do since my hair has always been long. Short hair is still new to me. I was always told I had a nice grade of hair, but those same people always had a straightening comb or relaxer in their hand so I never knew what my hair really looked like until I did the no chemical no heat rule for myself. I shall definitely continue exploring your site! And congratulations on having an absolutely adorable baby!
